After completing his studies, he worked as a designer trainee at a textile mill in east France. This popular painter was married to Emilie when he was still learning painting skills. They both were motivated and inspired by the painter François Bocion in their early twenties. Then both Steinlen and his wife Emilie moved to the community for the artist in Paris. Steinlen also did poster art for the cabaret owner and other enterprises. By creating more than two thousand images published in multiple publications using photomechanical reproduction, Steinlen greatly influenced the younger generation of artists. Photomechanical reproduction was a new technology that helps in a photographic image using paper and ink. And to avoid any political problems like bad criticism, he created the illustration under a pseudonym. Théophile-Alexandre Steinlen met many popular artists who influenced and inspired him to grow his art skills in his lifetime. Some of the popular artists whom he meets where like Louis Anquetin, Adolphe Willette, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, and Félix Vallotton. He meets these entire artists at the notorious Le Chat Noir club. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eThroughout Théophile-Alexandre Steinlen's lifetime, his favorite subject was his permanent home, Montmartre, and its surrounding environment. He often used to describe his popular subjects in his paintings. He died in the year 1923 and was buried in Montmartre in Cimetière Saint-Vincent. His popular painting was mainly found at many museums all over the globe. Some of his popular paintings are available in popular places like Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia.
